PROGRAMS MAKE A DIFFERENCE. ALWAYS.
Finding a safe and stable home that is affordable is just the first challenge for many Contra Costa residents. Many of our citizens also need an additional measure of suppport to overcome challenges associated with physical and mental disabilities, uncertain economic circumstances, a deminishing public safety net, inadequate education, and a weak job market. CCIH's programs are designed to address the unique challenges faced by our residents. Our comprehensive and intergenerational approach is having measurable and positive impacts in our communities.
Garden Park Apartments
At the Garden Park Apartments, CCIH serves 27 formerly homeless families with an adult member with a disability. CCIH provides on-site support services to help these families to stabilize, develop self-sufficiency, and break an intergenerational cycle of poverty and homelessness. Professional staff and talented volunteers work together with families to create a community in which families, and especially the children, can thrive.
East County Programs: Bella Monte and Los Medanos Village
CCIH started providing support services to two affordable housing sites in East county in November, 2010. Most of these 122 families receive low wages at their jobs and some have special needs. The focus of these programs include case management and mental health support with the goal of assisting families to remain stable in housing, afterschool programs for youth enrichment and academic support, and strengthening vulnerable families.
