Questions About Donating

GIFTS. ALL SIZES AND SHAPES.

Where Does My Money Go?

All donations go directly to supporting CCIH programs and administrative costs.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes, CCIH is a legally registered 501.c.3. agency.

How much of your income goes to programs?

Currently, approximately 75% of funds go directly to support program costs.

Where does the rest of the money go?

The rest of the funding supports the day-to-day operations of the agency including oversight, fundraising, accounting, record-keeping and reporting, coordination with other agencies, rent, insurance, communications, and office equipment and supplies.  CCIH's strategic plan is to expand and develop a second project in the near future. When this is accomplished, a greater percentage of funds will go to direct services.

Do you pay your Board of Directors?

No. All Board members serve as volunteers.

I don't have money to give. What else can I do to help?

Learn more about homelessness, and keep your friends informed, too!  Volunteer and help us to end homelessness in Contra Costa County.

Wish List

In-kind donations are tax deductable as per law.

CCIH maintains a list of needed items. We do not have storage space, so kindly check with us first before donating anything. Items cannot be dropped off at the Garden Park Apartments without prior arrangement.

FURNISHINGS AND PROGRAM DONATIONS

All family units at Garden Park Apartments come completely furnished. Our residents are moving in directly from the streets or emergency shelters. CCIH takes a few gently used and new furnishings when we have a vacancy or need. You can also sponsor refurnishing a unit with a monetary donation. Our residents have ongoing and seasonal needs. Items always accepted include school supplies such as markers, crayons, printer cartridges, copy paper, construction paper, and pencils. We distribute school supplies at the start of the year, including backpacks. Garden plants and gardening tools are perfect for springtime donations.

Dental Services:

MediCal has cut services for adult patients. We are seeking dental professionals who may be able to help our tenants.

For New Tenants Moving in:

CCIH accepts small microwave cookware, household cleaning supply kits, personal care supply kits, and dish towels in preparation for furnishing apartments of new tenants.

All in-kind donations are tax deductable to the extent allowable by law. When you donate you can request a reciept with the CCIH tax ID number for your records.
