Our volunteers are an integral part of our support service programs at both sites. Volunteers receive a thorough orientation before working directly with tenants. We do everything we can to ensure that you will have a rewarding experience and be able to make a significant contribution.
Homework Club
Homelessness disrupts children's eduction. Homework Club volunteers work with formerly homeless children, either in groups or one-on-one, to help them learn new skills and regain confidence and self-esteem.
Hours:
Monday through Thursday during the school year. Generally 2:45pm to 5 pm. We prefer that you commit to work once weekly on the same day, although other schedules can be accommodated. Volunteers must attend training and follow program guidelines.
Volunteer Requirements:
Enthusiasm, flexibility, dependability, ability to work independently, patience, experience working with youth preferably in an educational setting, tutoring/teaching experience a plus. Tutors must be high school age or older.
